Looking back on 2017, Indiehitmaker artists have had more #1 records and been on the charts for more weeks than in our last ten years of reporting combined. For the second part of our 2017 year in review, we’re looking back on the charting success of all our artists this year and proud to feature several artists who made the Billboard Year End Charts 2017.
Our first honor goes to William Control who landed on the most charts in one week, hitting 14 with the release of his Revelations – The White EP.
So many Indiehitmaker artists landed on the Billboard charts this year with eighteen of them hitting number one totaling over a hundred #1 seats all across 2017.
The last year of the Billboard Hot Singles Sales chart was dominated by IHM artists, taking up ten of the top twenty-five spots, and the entirety of the top five for the year. Although the removal of this chart is a big blow to independent artists presence on Billboard, we are proud and excited that the last ever chart features IHM artists at the top.
