Spend More Promoting Than Recording In 2020

It was discovered in April, after observing the success of Billie Eilish, that money is better spent on promotions than recording. During the week of the 13th,  her debut LP When We All Fall Asleep, Where do We Go? hit number one on the Billboard Top 200 albums with a record-breaking 14 songs charting on the Hot 100 on its first week of release and remained steadily at number two for a considerable time afterward. The benefits of financially focusing on promotions were discussed in depth in the original blog about this phenomenal occurrence.

Partnerships & Growth

Valuable opportunities were brought to the forefront in May and June. The chance to hone your craft with a knowledgable and talented faculty came in the form of a Summer camp in Los Angeles during May, called VocalizeU. This month, IHM also refined our original Spotify Growth plans into Monthly Spotify Promotions packages. In June, the creators of the music rights platform, The LABZ, offered one lucky Indie artist the chance to be featured in promo material for them. They are continually offering promotional opportunities and provide a top-notch collaborative platform, so check them out at their website here.
