Big thanks to our friends at Evolver.com & Label 2.0 (congrats on the new partnership with Reverbnation.com) for alerting us to Live Music Machine.com, which appears to be a smart tool for bands to book gigs directly with fans, bypassing some of the issues new artists encounter in dealing with venues.
As the Evolver.com article explains, “LiveMusicMachine.Com has been developed expressly to make it easier for artists and bands to be booked by anyone at anytime and from anywhere on the Internet. If you never knew how easy it was to book your favorite band, you will now.”
Although shows booked outside of regular performance venues won’t qualify for venue sales reporting due to Soundscan’s regulations, this looks like an interesting development for performing artists seeking to develop a market before transitioning to live venues.
