Indiehitmaker hit three music conferences over the past three weeks where our president and founder Bram Bessoff was briught in as a featured panelist to discuss the power of fan engagement with thousands of attendees.
First stop was Delaware for the Dewey Beach Music Conference. One of the most artist-centric conferences on the circuit, “I’ve never seen artists better taken care of,” says Bram, “Dewey did a great job making sure you knew who was onstage.” With over 500 artists performing there were many fantastic showcases with a large showing of artists from Lancaster and Philly PA.
#bestofmerch Dewey Beach went to Atlanta’s own Revel in Romance from Atlanta, GA who had the most well thought merchandise line and display.
Next we teamed up with CD Baby to speak at the DIY Musicians Conference held at the most haunted place in Chicago, The Congress Hotel. Although many of our off panel moments were spent searching for signs from the afterlife and there was a few reports of unexplained phenomenon, the scariest thing we experienced was the amount of artists unable to monetize their craft, to which we immediately went to work helping them find ways to drive revenue and music sales through merch.
This conference was heavily geared towards education and hosted upwards of 1000 emerging artists. This is a great place to get started networking as you get tons of face to face time with industry professionals and attend some fantastic panels.
A3C completed our Trifecta as we returned home to Atlanta, GA with our friends and partners at Merch Cat. Bram was featured on the “No More CD’s” panel where he helped emerging and established hip-hop artists learn how to bundle merch and music sales to get on the charts and drive revenues. “One thing about hip-hop artists,” says Bram “their determination to succeed and thirst for knowledge is unprecedented” as the panel was standing room only.
Micah Jennings at A3C posted an amazing summary of our A3C panel, read the full article here.
