*IHM works with authenticated partners to report sales to Luminate (FKA MRC)/Nielsen (FKA SoundScan) and are subject to further costs and third party set up fees as noted above under the information icon. As mandated by Nielsen (FKA SoundScan), live show sales reporting requires third party reporting entities and fees. Included in your IHM plan, we can help you set up and maintain these accounts to assure your live show sales are properly reported and count towards Billboard charting.

IHM
The Short Answer:
By making sure all your US sales are streams are reported to Nielsen (aka Soundscan).
The Full Answer:
Strategy, Planning, and a whole lot of know-how. Charting on Billboard is harder than ever thanks to streaming, but it is possible; even for unsigned and independent artists.
With our deep understanding and decades of experience getting hundreds of artists on Billboard, we have developed a proprietary process to evaluate which charts you qualify for and how many streams/sales it will take to get on the charts, climb the charts and stay on the charts.
From there we build your custom momentum plan and can even work with you every step of the way to achieving your goal of becoming a Billboard Charting Artist.
It starts with your free kick-off session. Join IHM for just $10 and schedule your 20-minute kick-off session. We'll explain the process along with the potential costs in both time and money.
After, if you decide it's not for you, we will happily refund your $10, stop your monthly billing and leave you with our Dropkick Release Plan so you can build momentum on your own.
You've got nothing to lose and a whole lot to gain when you #makeitcount on the Billboard Charts.

The only way to make your live show sales count on The Billboard Charts is through AtVenu, the official venue reporting platform for Nielsen. But just because you report your sales does not mean they will count.
IHM Artists benefit from our expertise and understanding of the venue reporting process to assist you every step of the way: From ensuring titles are properly registered, sales/venues are verified and within policy guidelines, deadlines are met, and when situations arise, we can usually help save your sales.
Never missing reporting deadlines, getting venue representative sign offs in time or knowing who to contact and what to say when minutes make the difference between getting on the Billboard charts and losing big sales numbers makes joining IHM worthwhile for the live venue reporting support alone.
Don’t just report your live show sales, make sure they count:
Nielsen (AKA Soundscan) currently only accepts sales from the United States including Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and certain US Colonies outside of the contiguous United States. If unsure if your sales will count, be sure to contact us at least two weeks prior to your release.
Yes. We take care of all your title registrations with Nielsen (AKA Soundscan) and work directly with Billboard to make sure all title information is correct before you hit the charts.
There are many gotchas that can cause issues, disqualify or omit certain sales and streams causing you to miss getting on the charts. By adding your title info to our system we can assure everything is registered properly to maximize your numbers and confirm info is correct prior to the release of charts.
Don't risk your chance to chart because of a technical error. Once reporting deadlines pass and charts go live, there is no way to change the information or make missed sales count.
Assure every sale and stream counts:
In early 2020 Billboard transitioned the majority of their charts to a consumption model making streams count towards charting. This streaming equivalent crowded the top of most charts with legacy artists and back catalog music making it difficult for indie artists to enter the charts.
The switch makes it critical for artists to make sure every sale and stream is reported to Soundscan, requiring each asset to be properly associated with its body of work.
For perspective, here are the streaming and digital song sales equivalents to the sale of one Album/EP or Digital Single unit - which is the metric standard Billboard uses to build their charts - the artist with the most units for the week tops the chart.
Billboard did away with their CD singles chart back in 2018 although CD singles still count for genre-specific and Top Singles Charts, there is a catch for charting singles. Schedule your free kick-off session when you join to learn more.
Making sure all your different assets work together to maximize your charting power is often confusing, difficult, and time-intensive. Indiehitmaker Artists get the benefit of our expertise to make this easier, faster, and more accurate.
We’ll also show you a few legitimate industry insider strategies savvy artists can use to maximize these equivalents giving those artists “in-the-know” a competitive advantage to rise above the masses of undiscovered talent by becoming one of the elite few Indie Billboard Charting Artists.
Now more than ever, charting on Billboard is a powerful way to build your momentum and attract industry attention. Use your free kick-off session to learn how IHM can help you get on the charts and use Billboard to build your momentum.

One of the best benefits to being an IHM artist is that you will know prior to the charts going live. Simply follow our process and stay in communication with us and we will handle the rest.
Get On the Billboard Charts
The money is in the Metadata and whoever owns the UPC & ISRC codes gets paid. Metadata remains a mystery to many in the industry; pros included. It's easy for artists to unintentionally make mistakes with their digital content metadata leading to lost revenues.
Our metadata experts can help curate your existing back catalog and future releases to assure you get all your money including any past royalties that may be stuck in the "Black Box" due to metadata errors.
IHM artists can get started for free, but you should be aware there are costs associated with fixing back catalog metadata issues and properly setting up future releases to avoid the same pitfalls.
When done properly, your return on investment can be bigger royalty checks, more publishing monies, and a higher valued catalog you can leverage to negotiate favorable deals or sell for pure profit.

Sell more music and merch at your live shows, right? Wrong!
Many times investing in merch can be a huge money pit. Especially if you don’t know your audience well enough, you could very well be wasting your money.
Our founder and expert live music producer, Bram, will help you understand why people come to live shows, their expectations and how to create the moments they need to stay engaged for the entire show - all without spending a dime on enhanced production, lighting, video walls or pyro.
Next you’ll learn the secrets to crafting the perfect set list for all your show types, and then work directly with you on stage to bring your show to life by crafting the moments, creating the transitions and mastering the tools of the stage to capture and engage audiences turning them into fans.
Once you master these skills, not only will you profit from merch and music sales at your live show, by loving your audience and consistently performing engaging live shows you will get bigger and better paying gigs, sell out rooms and get talent buyers bringing you back over and over again.
