IndieHitMaker exists because artists cannot directly report their live show sales to SoundScan. Only record labels and distribution companies that pay the annual fees and fit the mandated requirements can qualify for this exclusive program. Since most independent and unsigned artists sell the majority of their CDs at live shows, without IndieHitMaker these sales would go unreported and unaccounted for in US SoundScan sales numbers making it next to impossible for industry executives, deal makers, and A&R to discover you. By simply reporting all your sales to SoundScan, you can significantly increase your awareness within the industry. Sell enough and everyone will know when you get on the Billboard Charts.
